The Tougaloo College fitness center provides an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and community members to improve individual health and well-being. Physical activity fosters normal growth and development and can reduce the risk of various chronic diseases and make people feel, function, and sleep better. You can gain most of these health benefits when you do the equivalent of 150 to 300 minutes or 2.5 to 5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity each week. The center is readily available to assist you in obtaining the daily recommended physical activity.
Fitness amenities are the primary reasons individuals choose to become members of particular fitness centers. Here, at the fitness center, the circuit and free weight and cardiovascular equipment; outdoor swimming pool; and fitness classes such as line dancing, step aerobics, sit and fit, strength and conditioning, toning, water aerobics, yoga, and Zumba are all intended to improve your physical and mental health. The center is also equipped with locker rooms and showers for your convenience.
While you may not utilize all of the seasonal and year-round amenities offered at the center, we are confident that you will find an option that fits your lifestyle here. We strive to create a comfortable, supportive, and welcoming environment and we are eager to become your chosen facility where we provide what you need to obtain a healthy and fit mind and body.
