Summer Leadership Institute
June 7th - June 25th, 2010
M-F: 8:30am - 2:30pm

The Tougaloo College 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) will conduct a three-week Summer Leadership Institute serving at least 30 youth who were enrolled in the academic year program. The Summer Leadership Institute will be held on the campus of Tougaloo College. The overall purpose of the institute is to assist students in overcoming basic skill deficits and acquiring a more practical hands-on experience for understanding factors associated with conflict and violence. In addition, the institute will allow students to:

  • Integrate and refine academic, personal and wellness, and career development skills gained in the Tougaloo College 21st CCLC After School Program during the 2009-2010 Academic School Year

  • Extend their understandings of cultural diversity

  • Continue building and maintaining positive relationships with parents, other family members, peers, school administrators, and community leaders

  • Build leadership skills
